Pets are suppose to make you live longer...right? The kids have been talking about getting an animal since they could talk. Up to now we've resisted the temptation believing they'd be more trouble then fun, but we're starting to rethink that. For me, I believe it all revolves around the concept of obedience. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone around who listens for a change...that's why I've said definitely NO to a cat. The challenge is we can't swap kids for dogs, so we're asking the kids to shape up if they want to take this step. Time will tell.
Our friends up the street are dog experts and have been helping the kids try to narrow down a breed that is friendly, non aggressive, quiet, small, and doesn't shed...easy right? Please comment if you have any ideas. My vote was for a beagle (like my childhood pal Casie) but I don't have a lot of support. The girls seem to want a rat instead of a dog that they can carry around in their purse. Good luck with the Rotties next store.
I'm sure mom and dad will get stuck with all the work but they are irresistible as puppies and did I mention obedient.
